Creative New Zealand

Department of Corrections

Department of Corrections logoThe Department of Corrections manages sentences and orders imposed by the courts and the Parole Board. Its focus is improving public safety by ensuring sentence compliance and reducing re-offending, through capable staff and effective partnerships. Arts Access Aotearoa is working in partnership with Corrections to develop a national arts strategy and individual arts plans for prisons throughout New Zealand.
